Sugar Hill Farmstead is offering a paid farm apprenticeship for someone eager to dive into the daily rhythm of homestead life—working with animals, tending gardens, learning composting systems, and more.

This is more than a job—it’s a full immersion into sustainable farming and pasture-based living in a supportive, land-based environment.

What You’ll Learn and Do

• 🌾 Weed-Eating & Garden Maintenance – Keep our gardens and pastures thriving using low-impact, regenerative methods.

• 🐖 Animal Husbandry – Help care for pasture-raised pigs, chickens, and rotationally grazed livestock.

• ♻️ Composting – Learn how to operate and manage a closed-loop on-site composting system.

• 🛠️ Homestead Skills – Support the everyday operations of an off-grid farm, including fencing, harvesting, maintenance, and food production.

Work Expectations & Compensation

• 🕕 Hours: 6 hours per day, most days of the week

• 💵 Compensation: This is a paid apprenticeship with compensation discussed during the interview process

• ⏳ Probationary Period: A 4-week trial period allows us to ensure a great fit for both sides

Housing & Farm Life

🏡 Live on the land in a comfortable, off-grid tiny house overlooking the pastures

• Equipped with a kitchen, filtered rainwater, indoor bathroom, and laundry

• Powered by solar energy and designed to support a simple, intentional lifestyle
